Just finished watching the last season of Hannibal. That was excellent, particularly Mads Mikkelsens performance as Hannibal.
Be warned, it is extremely gorey and violent in places as you would expect.

Dead to Me was also pretty good. Sort of kooky but a good watch.

Earlier I realised I never actually finished season 2 of The Punisher, so I’m rewatching that now.

Just started 'Evil Genius' on Netflix last night. It's a documentary about a 2003 bank robbery in the US, where the robber was wearing a collar bomb around his neck. The Police arrested him near the bank and hand cuffed him - then noticed the collar bomb and stood well back. The robber sat on the ground pleading his innocence and saying that someone had fitted the bomb to his neck and he had been given a map and a set of clues that would lead him to the key to take off the bomb. As the Police trained their weapons on him, the bomb went off, killing him instantly.

I've no idea where it goes from here, but I've honestly never seen anything like it before. Only four parts (45 mins each), so will be back very soon to give my verdict. Gripping stuff, so far.

Just realised, I never got back on this! Really strange story, featuring yet more socially inadequate, egostistical Americans (with apologies to any American folk on here), which makes for fascinating viewing. I won't spoil it for anyone who might want to watch it, but it's a good documentary and well worth a watch.

I'm now working my way through Cardinal, which is available on iPlayer. Canadian detective series. Most detective series work to a formula these days, but I think the characters are very well drawn in this - and the scenery is fantastic! 4 seasons in total - 6 episodes in each season. I'm really enjoying it.

Finished all four seasons of Cardinal. I really enjoyed it - has echoes of The Sinner about it.

Just finished The Wave - a french drama that filled BBC Four's Saturday night foreign slot. Here's my full review;

I watch white lines, not a bad show. I thought the ending was a bit poor. I think I might of already said this on another thread but the first season of true detective is brilliant. Matthew MC conaughey is brilliant in it

Three parts into Bloodline on Netflix and really enjoying it. Based in the Florida Keys, it tells the story of a successful family with a number of skeletons in their cupboard (though it's not clear yet exactly what those skeletons consist of). Really good start - I'll update once I've finished it.

Finished season one of Bloodline on Netflix. It's 13 episodes and fairly slow-paced at times, but that does give time to draw out the characters - which it does really well. It's excellent and I really enjoyed it. Will probably follow up with seasons two and three. Highly recommended.

Next to watch is the documentary 'Operation Odessa' - about how a Russian mobster, a Cuban spy and a smooth operator from Miami scheme to sell a Soviet submarine to a Colombian drug cartel for $35 million. I have been told it is every bit as bonkers as it sounds.

Watched 'American Murder - the family next door' on Netflix last night. It's a single part documentary based on, well, a murder in America. Much of the early footage is taken from Police bodycam, which adds a dramatic sense of realism to the story. There are no real twists, but it's one hell of a story - with tragic consequences. Well worth a watch - 1hr 23mins.

Ive watched "The night of" cant remember the source - maybe Netflix and I was hooked after the first episode.

Have recommended it to several mates and they all seemed to like it - but to make sure I recently watched part one again and it was as gripping

I stopped watching Ozark after about 6th episode and dont know why. Then a mate said its great have you ever watched it and so I started at Episode 1 and was hooked this time round. Could not fathom why I stopped the first time round though !

I've been back watching 'Pushing up Daisies' and loving it, such a shame it didn't get to have a proper ending (well it got a rushed summary that was better than nothing) since it was dropped after 2 seasons. It is a bit off the wall kooky but you might have gathered I rather like that sort of thing. It is sweet, charming and very very clever. If any of you feel like getting in touch with your feminine side then take a look at it, even the first couple of episodes are just lovely.
Some great banter as well - makes me smile to watch it again.

I've just finished the first season of Man In The High Castle. I'm not entirely blown away by it but I'm intrigued and enjoying it enough to keep going with it. It's definitely a slow burner, but I quite like that it's taking its time, it allows the world building to be natural without too much info-dump (apart form a little unnecessary expository dialogue in the first episode). The main character is a bit dull but the two main bad guys are great, especially Rufus Sewell as the head SS bloke. He exudes a sense of calm, calculated evil so well.

Just watched Operation Odessa on Netflix, a 90 minute one-part documentary. Absolutely unbelievable. Without spoiling it, a Russian mobster, a Miami playboy and a Cuban spy, team up to sell a nuclear submarine to a Colombian drug cartel. It’s easy to think these characters only exist in films, but here’s proof positive that‘s not the case. Remarkable.

Well worth sticking with if you enjoyed the premise. It doesn't ever really get 'fast paced' but there are a lot of really good performances and characters, and the story is fantastic. I'll need to get on to the latest season soon.

I watched all 4 series and really enjoyed it. I've also have read the book. Stick with it even though series 3 does drag but series 4 s very good.
