Just got back from work. Just after I finished up with my last client I jump on the whip, and was just about to thrash it home and I saw a car with two canoes strapped to the roof! ashock1

I know the government said your allowed to exercise but I think that might be taking the piss
don't canoes need exercise too? - or are you just canoeist ;)

Yesterdays figures at the top -

Those numbers have to be taken with huge pinch of salt, wildly under reported death from care homes, in communities and some hospital deaths are not reported right away. I wonder if Italy is reporting all the deaths where ever it happens

They have said deaths from care homes are not being counted into the daily figures as they are not getting them daily so taking that into account the figures are accurate for those they are counting.

Does anyone else think that the lockdown might change an aspect of their life permanantly? I think even after this all ends I'll be using supermarkets a lot less as the lockdown has forced me to discover much better local (and not so local as I have to cycle to them or there on my way home from work) shops

Yes I will have to find another supplier for milk. My milk man was forced to retire after 50 years even though this would have been a very busy period for him.

I think it will, out local shop has been brilliant the owner has kept stocks of essentials off the shelves when he has been short and has only sold to regulars, we used the shop before this even though he can be a bit dearer than the town shops as its a ball ache having to go to town for a couple of things, he deserves all our trade when this is over and i hope others remember this.

It's becoming impossible to get the gets to sleep before 8pm during lockdown as they keep getting woken by the 8pm 'entertainment'. Fair play to clap on a Thursday but it's something different every night of the week here in Wales. Tonight was sign the national anthem. I live with not many people around us but I swear these people have microphones or just meet outside my house.
Tomorrow we have clap for the paperboy.

For me its the enviroment, seeing pictures of the citys around the world now all the pollution is going away, people hearing bird song as they walk but for me the pic of the himalayas a guy took from his village he had never seen them for 30 years, i will take loads of positives from this as i think a lot of people will, we have to learn from this but sadly i think the big corporations and money men will just carry on as normal with people like Trumppy boy in the world there is no hope

We have always nominally supported our local milkman, buying 3 pints a week for 20 years. As soon as there was a sniff of lockdown we upped the order. Keeping local businesses going is something we can all do, they provide a great service.

I agree, as a global community we have to learn from this. Instead of highlighting cultural differences as certain leaders are wont to do, the pandemic has shown that we are all vulnerable and are stronger when we work together. Nobody is invincible (no matter how much Trump spouts his rubbish on Twitter) and we are far better served by cooperating and sharing.

I've found that the things I eat are cheaper in the shops I've discovered than the supermarket so it a win win for me. I've even found a shop that has a peanut butter machine (I've only ever seen pictures/vid of those in supermarkets in the US)

If he's still there when the lock down lifts I might start supporting my LHBS (well its in brockley a couple of miles away) instead of being a lazy bugger and ordering everything off the interweb
