Well he said I'm allowed full sick pay, tax deferred to 2021 although any self employed earning threshold or under clames this back once a year anyway. So nothing I can see available now.

I never thought i would see the day when people were panic buying beer, wine and cider kits.

My Girlfriend is SE shes down to 3 days a week as it is now her nursery is closed she is forced to till pay the nursery and now cannot work at all because she has a small child full time so no money coming in has to find a way to pay mortgage a nursery she never going to use again which is £500 per month and feed herself..

She says the safety net is absolute bollocks

Tesco was a waste of time so we visited the nearby Iceland they didn't have any shortage of anything including chicken which SWMBO's friends told her was impossible to get in ADSA and Tesco.

Everyone has seen what happened in the supermarkets with the food and are anticipating the same happening to alcohol next so are pre-empting it with making their own (bread flour and bread yeast has been panic bought too btw). People are also anticipating a coming lock down so want lots of alcohol to see them through it

I thought there was a mortgage holiday in place.

That's interesting to know. I think Iceland are doing a one in one out policy (that's what it looked like they were doing when I cycled past one earlier in the week

How much food do people need, its time to clamp down and hard, i am waiting for the day when the beer runs out and i can sit back and enjoy a barby and drink as much as i like, we have alot of meat enough to last a couple off weeks may be 3 so just need veg bread milk, we have not panicked bought but just after christmas we started to buy 1 extra pack of meat chicken beef leg of lamb and slowly built a stock in the freezers looks like its paying off now,

Give it about 3 weeks and you'll also need to purchase a shotgun to keep off those who weren't so forward thinking
:laugh8:

They were saying the tube in London was as packed as normal aheadbutt

Yeah but it’s only NOW that they’ve said they’d pay most (not all of people’s wages) I’ve not been to University, I don’t have transferable skills etc. For me working is retail or warehouse work because that’s what I’m good at.

Until now I couldn’t genuinely consider going “Sick” because I can’t live off £94 a week and not can my Mrs. I know I’m not special etc but what I mean is people like me who live on the bread line as it is barely make enough to pay the Mortgage, Bills etc. Today’s announcement is good, I just hope they stick with it.

Next month I’ll barely pull in a grand and that’s based on 30 hours. So to just drop £140 in a week is.....unthinkable. I know we should all be at home etc but we still have to live.

They were the first to introduce the OAP's (are you allowed to call them that now) only hour.

BTW - We eat a lot of chicken thats why i mentioned it in the earlier post.

Me and the Mrs went to Costco about a week or so before the world went to ****. We weren’t panic buying but as long as we don’t start emptying our guts out we should have enough loo roll lol

Hats off to Iceland for that. I’m not perfect but if I was in a Supermarket and was almost fighting with an OAP I’d just give them the rice, pasta etc.

They don’t get treated half as well as they should for all they’ve done over the years
