"You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household."

Prepare for an influx of Londoners to the Lake District, chippy :laugh8:

To be honest they are wasting their time nothing is open so if you don't like walking you are not going to be too impressed.

What he did this evening was irresponsible. Now you have people in Scotland, NI, and Wales thinking Johnson's measures apply to them.

N Sturgeon had already announced she is not going to relax lockdown whatever Boris said tonight.

So from Wednesday we can now travel to other places to exercise, take unlimited excursive and sit in parks as long as we obey distancing rules, a lot of people are going to be happy with that.

Looks like its going to be a rough 2 months for some but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Step 2 - June - some shops may open and the start of schools going back.

Step 3 - July - they hope to reopen some businesses in the hospitality industry and public places with distancing.

That's exactly my point. He was meant to clear that his message applied only to England. He failed. As he always ******* does. Notice it was pre-recorded. Probably hiding in a fridge somewhere.

'suppose it gives the rozzers a rest from send them all back home (as per the twitter posts from the Cumbria copper twitter feed you've been posting)

Yep they can get back to the important stuff sitting in the laybys' playing on their phones. :laugh8:

Don't the people of Scotland already know that Sturgeon make the rules for Scotland where covid is concerned not Boris, i don't live in Scotland and i knew that.

Nicola Sturgeon has announced that Scotland will lift the once a day exercise rule from today onwards.

The First Minister said that the "one immediate change" would be the only restriction to officially be lifted as the transmission rate in Scotland remains too high for "any significant changes"

Previously Scots were allowed out for daily exercise once a day, but now the First Minister has confirmed that from tomorrow you can leave the house for as much daily exercise as you feel is needed.

The First Minister hopes that by lifting the restriction it will help the "health and wellbeing" of Scots stuck in Lockdown.

It is important to note that these new rules do not apply to people with symptoms of the virus.

Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that she will not be making any further changes to lockdown this early on she fears if she did "People will die unnecessarily"

It was also confirmed that any further changes announced by Prime Minister Boris Johson tonight, will not apply to Scotland.

Ms. Sturgeon said it is important to not have a "mixed message" at this point in time.

Her basic message to Scotland remains to "please stay at home"

He also said work from home if you can but go back to work asap if you cant. Wonder what the trains are going to be like. It'd be almost impossible to socially distance on them.

Even if my legs fall off there's no way Im going on the train to work. I'll pedal with my hands and steer with my teeth if I have to

Me for the last 7 weeks i have been brewing ale and following a family of 5 sailing round the world on a 40ft catarmaran on youtube, they are now on lock down in new zealand, what a life

More reaction to BJ from sturgeon

Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland’s first minister, told BBC Scotland that Boris Johnson needed to be much clearer that his proposed easing of the lockdown only related to England.
“Pretty much everything he said in that statement applied to England,” she said. There were no current plans in Scotland to reopen primary schools or building sites, or to suggest people start playing sports, she said. She went on:
He is the prime minister of the UK; I’m not trying to gainsay that, but these restrictions are in place legally separately in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and therefore we have a duty to take decision in our own jurisdictions about the speed with which we lift those.
[It] is incumbent on him, maybe a bit more strongly than he did tonight, to stress that when he’s talking about lifting these restrictions, he’s talking for England. We really have such a duty just now to be as clear as possible.

I read somewhere today they are bringing in rules for train and bus companies forcing them to enforce distancing, i doubt many will be wanting to get back onto crowded busses and trains any time soon.

And the Welsh response to BJ's announcement:

Mark Drakeford, the first minister of Wales, has issued his response to Boris Johnson’s speech. In it he stresses that he has already published a roadmap for Wales, and that Wales will not be reopening schools on 1 June. He says:
The prime minister also set out his roadmap for the future. This is at an early stage because it depends on how the virus behaves over the coming weeks and months.
Two weeks ago, I published a framework to lead Wales out of the pandemic.
This has helped us decide that schools will not return to normal on June 1.
We will continue to make decisions, which are right for Wales, using information and expert advice about how coronavirus is circulating here to keep us safe.
