I think some people are have trouble understanding the concept of 'lockdown' :laugh8:

"A group of would-be holidaymakers who flew in a private jet from London to the Côte d’Azur in France have been turned back by police.

Seven men and three women arrived on the chartered aircraft to Marseille-Provence airport, where helicopters were waiting to fly them on to Cannes, where they had rented a luxury villa.

The men, aged 40-50, and women, aged 23-25, were refused permission to enter France and ordered by police to fly back to the UK."

Another day another WTF moment.

How kind of them to give their daughters a trip to the sun.
Obviously, the 50 year old men in their private jet on their way to a private luxury villa were able to attract women half their age simply by the power of their fantastic personalities.

What punishments can police enforce?

A police officer can order a non-essential business to close while coronavirus regulations are in place.

Police can also enforce the two key social distancing rules, which ban:

  • Leaving the place where you live "without reasonable excuse"
  • Being in a public gathering of more than two people
If someone refuses to follow the regulations - for instance a request to go home - officers can give them an on-the-spot fine of £60, reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days. If they keep breaking the law, more fines can be given - up to a maximum of £960.

Police could ultimately charge someone with the more serious criminal offence of breaching coronavirus regulations and a direction to follow them. This could lead to a conviction in a magistrates court and an unlimited fine.

He was wounded in World War Two and spent three years as a prisoner in a war camp, and said: "I survived that!"

A 99-year-old war veteran has left hospital fit and well after recovering from coronavirus.

Nurses at Tickhill Road Hospital in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, made a socially-distanced "guard of honour" for Albert Chambers as he left.

Mr Chambers, who will be 100 in July, was admitted to Doncaster Royal Infirmary after a fall but then developed symptoms of Covid-19.

He was taken to Tickhill Road where he was given oxygen and recovered.

More stories from around England

Mr Chambers was a Cold Stream Guard who at one time helped to protect Buckingham Palace.

He was wounded in World War Two and spent three years as a prisoner in a war camp, and said: "I survived that!"

He thanked nurses for the treatment he received when he left hospital, saying: "It couldn't have been better."

That old boy is probably the hardest man alive :laugh8:

Especially when they are coming from big cities to areas with the lowest confirmed cases in the country.

I think you mean London. The Lock down is basically voluntary here. The police are doing little to nothing to stop people going out and about. Perhaps in a couple of the bigger parks like the royal parks which makes the news ( there's literally thousands of small parks and green spaces here so you can go in those if you want). Plenty of people driving about. If you want to leave you can

Police turned back 3,000 vehicles yesterday attempting to enter Dyfed for going on holiday.

My daughters getting harrased in menai bridge by the rozz going to supermarket and when exercising because its a holiday destination. The fact she lives there but her v5 is still at the parental home in swansea doesn't help. The car is a birmingham plate as well so she's getting more hassle than other locals. ☹

I have heard reports that people are sending their belongings by courier and travelling her at night to try and go undetected.

A few check points on the A40 and other major roads tractors parked on the minor roads and the army with night vision sniper rifles to mop up the rest. that way only those who can paddle across to wales can get in. ;)

SWMBO has a letter from the council which tells the police she is an essential worker
