SWMBO has a letter from the council which tells the police she is an essential worker

The chief excecutive of the company I work for wrote a letter for all us community support workers to carry, explaining what we were doing out and about. Not that I've needed it as the Met arent interested in stopping anyone

I find it amazing that in the place where this is spreading the most the police are doing the least.

Maybe there's just too many people here for them to stop everyone and they obviously cant tell whose a keyworker or out for their daily excercise and whose not. It's kind of like if crime wasnt illegal and the Government 'advised' people to not to commit crime. Theres plenty of people staying in but you can go out if you want to without fear of being stopped

A Paisley man who is recovering from coronavirus has called on young people not to underestimate the impact the virus can have.

Calum Wishart said when news of the pandemic first broke his "naive arrogance" led him to believe he would be OK because he is only 25-years-old.

But within days of the lockdown Mr Wishart started displaying symptoms of the virus and was hospitalised.

He described it as "the most horrendous experience".

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, he said: "I had the completely wrong attitude.

"I would not say I was hugging strangers or anything like that, I think I just underestimated the real impact of it.

"I had the perspective that because I was young it would not affect me, that it would be like a kind of flu."

Mr Wishart said he had a "massive dose of reality" when the gravity of his situation became clear after being rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and put on oxygen.

He continued: "It started off as a slight fever and from there it escalated.

"The next few days was just on and off oxygen and not being able to do anything."

The loss of his freedom of movement was the biggest impact and now, out of hospital and into self-isolation, he is using his time to try and make younger people aware that coronavirus can strike anyone.

Now out of hospital, Mr Wishart is recovering from his experience in self isolation

I already thought of that and that is why the signatures are cut off and the part below is missing. thumb

You just know someone would be googling for a letter like that so they could use it. I even read a few weeks ago NHS staff were being told to hide their ID because thugs were mugging them for it so they could get to the front of supermarket queues

Not hard to mock up a letter like that using logos off the net.

If people in Cumbria are stupid enough to copy it (or mock it up) with the part below the signatures missing (which i discussed earlier) they deserve everything they get when they get caught using it.

One of my friends informed me that she was in the at risk group, and was taking the lift up to her flat, when two policemen asked her to hold the lift for them. She panicked and told them she was to self isolate because she was at risk and just to wait, but they told her to just hold the f'in lift and they got in with her.

In my opinion that was not according to the law they are supposed to be upholding, and an illegal act.

She should have taken their badge numbers and got out then reported them.

Boris Johnson is continuing to make "very good progress" in hospital, where he is being treated for coronavirus, according to Downing Street.

The prime minister, 55, was taken to hospital on Sunday - 10 days after testing positive for the virus.

He had three nights in intensive care before returning to a ward on Thursday.

No 10 said he was receiving daily updates and pregnancy scans from his fiancee, Carrie Symonds, and had been passing the time with films and sudoku.

On Friday, No 10 said Mr Johnson had been able to take short walks in between periods of rest at St Thomas' Hospital in London, where he is being treated.

Ms Symonds, who is due to give birth in two months, has been self-isolating with coronavirus-like symptoms but has not been tested.

An exiled Russian banker who fled to the UK after being accused of fraud has donated £1m to a hospital to help its response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Andrey Borodin and his wife Tatiana made the "overwhelmingly kind and generous donation" to the Royal Berkshire Hospital to support staff.

The hospital said the cash would be used to create a facility for staff to rest and access wellbeing services.

Mr Borodin fled to London in 2011 and was granted political asylum in 2013.

Mr Borodin paid £140m for Park Place Estate, near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, in 2011.

In a statement, the couple, whose children attended school in Berkshire, said they hoped the money would "contribute in a way which helps and supports" staff "now and in to the future".

"We sincerely thank the brave and selfless NHS workers for their hard work and commitment.

"We understand that there are thousands of NHS workers in our local community who go above and beyond in their patient care, and at this time more than ever," they said.

Steve McManus, chief executive of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, said: "This is an incredible donation at a very challenging time, and we are extremely grateful to Andrey and Tatiana for their generosity and thoughtfulness."

The BBC reported in 2013 Mr Borodin was being sought by Russia over a 2010 criminal case.

Mr Borodin said the investigation had "not been independent, objective, open-minded or fair" and he "knew that I would not receive a fair trial".

"I will continue to vigorously defend all actions against me in front of courts where I am confident of a fair and impartial hearing," he said.

If that was me I'd of not held it. What are they going to do, arrest me for it?
