I think that shows just how bad things are and just how on it's knees the NHS is right now. I dont think were being told the truth by the governmet/the media exactly how bad things in the NHS are right now. Just all the protect the NHS, it the greatest thing ever' we keep getting

I hope your niece gets better soon btw.

Thank you. She hasn't shown any other signs yet and temperature is being controlled by calpol.

Yikes - and I see there were at least 5 others as of 24h ago, three Transport for London workers, an Underground employee and a worker for one of TfL's suppliers. Buses are great places to get infected, and must be one reason for some of the ethnic variation in cases, I suspect that most BBC journalists take the Tube in to work, so they don't "see" the bus network.

I cant imagine any of them getting a bus to work

I think your right about variation on buses. I live in southwark, definately not the richest part of London. Whilst the buses are mostly empty there's still a number of people on them. Compared to where I work in kingston which is a rich borough, where most seem to have (nice) cars, they're like the mary celeste. I have to travel around the borough on the bus to visit clients and Im regularly the only person on the bus

One thing I've noted, isthat london parks are just as full but people are now doing different activities. I cycled past Clapham common yesterday and it was just as packed as it would be normally on a 23C day. But people weren't sitting on the grass chilling as they normally would they were all exercising. I've never seen so many joggers running around the common with loads of other people doing bodyweight exercises. Im not sure doing excercises lowers your chance of getting the virus compared to sitting

The only time I've been out is for a run or with the kids for a cycle or walk. I would say there is probably less traffic on roads but more people out and about than normal. This is probably due to National trust, parks, coast being shut down though. I would say the measures are working for large gatherings in popular places, but 'passing' people is definitely still happening on a big scale.

I definately agree there's a lot less traffic on the roads, even here in London and agree lots of people about but they're all congregating in the parks and green spaces as everything (like gyms) are all closed down. It quite easy to find space to do your daily excercise, in London now if you know London like I do - just dont go to the obvious places like the big parks or the commons

Hulme park, Manchester, where we walk - never more than 10/12 people in it

I think my missus is out of the worst of it now.
Like all responsible mature adults, I'm going to celebrate with some booze.

Cheese and onion toastie followed by a pint of AG Brown. I suspect this is the first pint of many LOL

What an A*sehole

"Police arrested a man on suspicion of theft after it was alleged that he stole a large number of face masks and other products from stores at north London ambulance sites and attempted to sell them online.

The man, in his 20s, was arrested on Wednesday, taken into police custody and bailed pending further enquiries to a date in late April.

He had been able to access the sites as he was a contractor working with London ambulance service. Officers recovered a number of items during their searches and these were returned to LAS."

DI Jason Colby, leading the investigation said:

I am saddened that anyone would take advantage of the NHS for their financial gain at such a critical time. These masks are a vital piece of PPE for emergency service personnel and are used to keep both themselves and patients safe.
We will continue to crack down on anyone attempting to take advantage of our emergency services for personal gain, especially at such an unprecedented time.
We are grateful to those who are assisting our investigation.

What a lovely pint that was, recipe straight out of the greg hughes book if my memory is correct. Been in PB for 2 months.
So nice I'm gonna have another one.

I have everything for the reciepe. What yeast did you use
I didn't make a note, but I'm pretty sure I went with Wilkos/Notty.
I tend to use that a lot for anything non specialist/specific.
It's a lovely pint.

If you go ahead with it, I hope it comes good as well.
When the world becomes normal again, I'm going to do this on a regular basis.
It was actually the last thing I brewed together with my son.
I just phoned him and told him it's fantastic and that there'll be none left by the end of lock down.
LOL

Cumbria Roads Police
@CumbriaRoadsPol

We wish to thank 99% of the public for complying with guidelines at this difficult time. However, 2 Yorkshire chaps chose to head to Windermere for a spot of canoeing. Stopped and escorted back to the motorway. Advice will lead to enforcement if not heeded #stayhomesavelives 1714

Its odd how different forces are dealing with the crisis. I went out for supplies earlier in central london. I stopped at some lights at trafalger square. On the pavement next to the lights were four police officers (two on bikes and two on foot - none were social distancing from one another I might add). They then proceeded to chat to me about my recumbent bike until the lights changed and off I went. None were the slightest bit interested in what I was doing cycling in Central London

Where i work the brew room is quite small so we were instructed not to hang about in there this didn't stop some of the same people doing the same thing in the smoking shelter, one employee recently tested positive and everyone is now keeping a safe distance, i think the problem with some people is they think its not going to happen to them so they carry on life as normal, these are the ones who will catch it and will spread it.
