They look plastic are they??? I've seen a site where they make plastic kegs.
Yes they are plastic, but they are very good casks, much cheaper to buy and less likely to be lifted for scrap.

Phil at Wibblers brewery uses these casks. The beer tastes good to me.

Thought they were, seen them on a USA site they say you can have them in your own brewery colours. That makes it easier to keep track of.

Same here, they've been gathering pace in the U.K for the last few years...there's a few links to them on the forum, have a search ;)

There are a few types on the market, the old Cypherco ones, which are Good but can be problematic for all sorts of reasons, and "Greencask" which are the ones I have gone for, as I think they are pretty good, have used them in the past they come with a very good warranty, and Molson Coors have just bought thousands of them to put Doombar in, so they must be pretty good.

Have been Hard at It again today,

Copper is now almost complete, it has been fully insulated and given a wooden coat.

Now it just needs a sand some stain, Varnish and a couple of stainless steel bands to hold it all together.

May I ask where you are getting the stainless banding from? I like the insulated copper and HLT. :thumb:

Worth having a few metal ones, CAMRA beer fests and afew others wont accept plastic casks. Far too forward thinking for them to understand.

Local sheet metal firm, will ask them to cut a length of 16ths guague sheet 40mm wide, and will make banding from that.

This is amazing! Are you working full time as well as doing this?
Yes

Not a lot further forward with the Build, as the jobs I have been doing since Tuesdays update, have really just been Planning Sourcing and Designing things etc, But I have made a start on My two Main Control Panels.

First one Is built on the wall and tested at control Voltage, Just need to get a 63Amp 3PH supply to it now :D

It will need a final tidy up, cable tie wires etc, before I close the panel door, but it works with no Faults :D

The PID is doing the temperature control, the 2 switches on the front select
a)12KW Heater
b) 9KW heater
c) Both,
d) None only Temperature indication.
That way I can get to boil rapidly, or keep a rolling boil.

Have made a sparge arm the spins like a good un, even at low flow rates.

False Bottom is cut to size,

a local sheet metal company have made me a frame for it, so I now need to assemble it and fit it (later in the week)

HMRC Certificate is through, so I can now make and Sell Beer :D , but I think I could be at least 2 weeks away from that possibly 3, but am going to try and kick in my Pilot plant once I get My HLT up and running, so should be able to make some beer for market by next weekend.

To do:
Finish Mash Tun false bottom & outlet Valve.
Complete HLT Control Panel,
Weld remaining Pipe fittings and pipe up.
Replace all 240V double wall sockets and fit Blue Industrial ones.
Too many other things I dont want to think about at the moment the above is enough!
Its Crazy the amount of work involved setting a brewery up  :?
