That looks amazing Shane.

You haven't got a big field out the back have for next years weekend.

What happened to painting the floor?

The Floor Has actually been Painted, with a translucent chemical resistant rubber Paint :D to seal it.

It will be getting a further coat of Blue Paint (same as the above but with a pigment) once I have finished dragging steel vessels around, cos at £70 a tin I'm not putting it down to get ruined, & scrauped up.

Well I have been hard at it again today, I have not picked up a TIG welding set for at least 5 Years so today was like a Babtism of fire, & the stuff i was welding is not easy stuff to weld either as its very thin stainless

Time to Turn This into a Mash Tun.

First weld in a frame for the false bottom.
First attempt and quite a bit of Crows Sh*t there.

Several hours later we have a frame all the way around, ( and a bugger it was to do due to the flexing and movement of the sheet stainless)

Next Cut off the 3" RJT fitting and Weld on a 3" to 1" Reducer, (this may get cut back to 1 1/2" not sure yet but I have options at least)

Finally add a nice warm layer of Insulation all around it

Tomorrows job is to get up early and fit a Plywood base, a Match-board outer skin and make a Lid with a Copper Spinney Sparge Arm.

Hopefully that will then mean I have a nice Working 750ltr Mash Tun :D

Your getting stuck into it...well done.. won't be long before your taking your first delivery of grains.
With the amount it's. Costing me, I think I will be using a just in time system, (buying just enough to do one brew) not taking deliveries :D

Well, I have moved on again since sunday, My Mash Tun would be finished Had I bought enough Matchboard from the Timberyard on Saturday, however I didn't so It will be Finished and Varnished tomorrow, Have done 99% of all the welding required on My copper, Just two small jobs to do tomorrow on it, & by this time tomorrow I am hoping that will be finished as well, all insulated and clad in Matchboard and Varnished a nice Antique Pine.

Here's the progress so far from Sunday.

I have cut all the celotex for the copper too but didn't want to bore you with a photo of a pile of that stuff :D

My Casks should be arriving tomorrow (weds) so hopefully That should spur me on to do more and get this brewery Bloody Finished.

Nope I wish, I can TIG but not that good, I did get it done cheap though, (promise of some beer, once I am up and running, surprising what people will do for a pint or too, :D )

Not a lot to report since the last post, as I had Thursday off, to take my youngest out for the day, (His Birthday).

I have insulated my copper now, & will be matchboarding it later today.

Its not fully insulated in this photo but I was tired and forgot to photgraph the finished article, because I had to handball 200 of these upstairs yesterday afternoon.

So if you see any of these at a beer festival in the next year give it a try ;)
