And the difference between this side and the 1996 side . . . Free European migration for work . . . so premiership teams can have as many foreigners in the side as they like, and with the Sky money being poured into the Premiership there are plenty of foreign players willing to come here to play . . . If the English FA Are serious about winning the World Cup they should say "you can have as many foreign players in your squad as you like . . . but you can only play 2 of them during a match" . . . There is no ban on them coming over here for work, but it would mean that we would see the development of English talent (Like Ferguson did at Man U before buying loads of foreigners to compete with the likes of Chelsea . . . and to win the Champions League)

And as a further addition to the rant . . The FA are introducing a rule one the number of foreign players that restrict it to 6 per team (OK its a start), but the definition of a 'home' player is one that has lived in the UK for 3 years!! So Man U (and others) are buying loads of 16YO from the academies worldwide and keeping them here so that in 3 years they are eligible to play for the club as 'English' players

Serbia play Australia today, if they win I think they go through to the next round. I can take comfort in the fact 'my' team haven't completely disgraced themselves, though I doubt Moley is panicking.

That's a tough call, as a self-respecting Scot you can't be expected to support England, even though we're all supposed to be British, which suits us when, for example, Murray is playing at Wimbledon.

Even so, you can't seriously back the Krauts, even if there is beer riding on it.
