Don't mind cold :!: can wrap up and keep warm :thumb: snows a pain in the arris, nice for kids to play on, nice on the hills, but thats about your lot :?

The way it was reported 'heavy snow in most areas' (on the BBC in particular) 'widespread disruption' etc is a bit of the old 'Freddie Star ate my hamster' type of reporting, over egging it to get people watching :!: There was an item on the breakfast news where the reporter was stood in front of a big pile of salt again on about 'widespread disruption' I looked at live motorway cameras on my route through Scotland and Northern Englad, 200 miles, not a bit of snow :wha:

No doubt we may still get some, but they were predicting from yesterday morning right through for the next 10 days would be pretty much snowing everywhere  think we're more accurate on here with our 'warning system' :thumb:

I don't mind the cold but it is 7c at the moment in my workshop which is too large to heat. I can wrap up warm but not my hands as I need the dexterity of a surgeon...

to frame pictures

I think they are still scared of the 'Don't worry there is not going to be a hurricane' blunder of 1987. And there is also no other news to report. It wouldn't get a look in if we declared war on Argentina or Iran :hmm: :hmm: .

Quite probably :!:

On the more accurate reporting THBF Snow Watch  ........... there is no snow to the West of the Pennines at the moment, the hills through central Lakeland, Coniston Fells and Scafell areas are totally uncovered even at 3000ft + :!: it's bloody cold though - 4 this morning but otherwise dry and bright :thumb: draughty, so wind chill makes it even colder, won't get above freezing most of the day I think :!: Roads dry and no ice either :thumb:

Technically a Hurricane is a Tropical storm . . . In 1987 we merely had Hurricane force winds ;)

Good old Micheal Fish, obviously knew his stuff then.

Still no snow in Manchester and still fecking cold.

White, cold and very windy.

So much for me saying mild climate.

Well, suppose we are mild here when compared to the Highglands to our south.

Garage at 1degC, so here's hopin it's warmer on Sunday cos I intend to brew. :D

Well since my last post we had a day's respite but. . . . .It's back . . .In force. the other day north east news couldn't get a news team in to Consett (the worst hit area up here) until 3 pm  and it looks like were in for another heavy overnight snowfall.

I'm glad we had a major insulation job done in the summer cos it's Nithrin oot there!!!

Kev

PS.
Be careful oot there!! Remember, they don't let you drink beer in hospital :drink:

Yes, it has snowed here too overnight.

We have a dusting at least 3 flakes deep, drifting to perhaps as much as 2mm in places
