Summer Brew and Swap - British Golden Ale

Afternoon all. The Saison swap proved to be very popular and the last couple of reviews are coming in, and its time to turn our attention to the next one. Just like last time, the style has shifted slightly to a more seasonally appropriate choice, British Golden Ale.

We'll aim to post on weekend of 21st August, and drink on or around weekend of 28th August.
If summer holidays interfere with brewing plans we can always push it back a week or two nearer the time.

I am in, what yeast would you use for a golden ale. I brewed one at the weekend and used Pia yeast. Is that within the guidelines for the style or should I used an English yeast

I have a beer in the fermentation fridge that fits the bill. How many would I need to send out (so I bottle the right number) and when would they be sent?

I'll be in for this, but one I've brewed before, what time would you put for conditioning? I thinking if I get a brew on late July it should give me enough time...

My Elderflower pale that I brewed on Friday fits the guidelines. I was planning on kegging and running through my hand pump so I’ll need to bottle some when I keg.

Same question as @NormanHurst - how many will I need to bottle condition?

I would say 3 minimum, 4 to be on the safe side or for you to try before sending out

Hello, I happen to be brewing a Golden Ale next weekend which I had planned to bottle condition half the batch so I'd like to join in this time

Not sure about yeast choice. The challenge will be to brew an obviously British ale on drinking so I’ll be looking at different English ale yeasts and avoiding American hops, although they are permitted in the style guidelines.

I'm in. Recently bottled an Exmoor Gold which will be well conditioned by swapping time I may even tweak the hops and yeast and make another version for the summer months.

My next planned brew is a pale ale using a cml tropical English hop mix which I'm looking forward too. I might continue working on a golden ale using Ernest and Bramling X again.

I've just put on an archer based lager, if I'm happy with that, I think I will go for an archer cascade golden ale, keep it simple...?

I’ve been mulling this over today while doing other things. I thinking I’ll be looking at something along then lines of 50% pale malt, 40% pilsner, 10% torreified wheat. Magnum/Styrian Goldings to hop and ferment with Wy1318.
It has to say British from first sniff to last sip.

Sounds like a great idea for the summer. I hope I can try to make something, I've been terrible so far this year with having anything suitable for the swaps and competitions.

The planned Golden Ale will be hopped with Godiva, Bramling Cross & Saphir. Have a packet of Wyeast 1335 ready to go which I think is the Adnams strain.
