Just brewing a Munton's lager kit to test out my temperature controlled fermentation fridge. I binned the yeast that came with it, and put some Safale S-04 in there (I know, it's not a lager yeast, but nor was the kit yeast from the fermentation temps in the instructions).

So, it's been fermenting for just under two days, and it doesn't smell very nice. It's a bit eggy - is this something to worry about? I've read that this might just be sulphur compounds, and I should just leave it alone to do its thing. What do you guys think?

Excellent, the eggy smell has pretty much cleared up - it smells of beer now. SG is down to 1.020. Still got a way to go, but it's looking hopeful.
