A have a woodfordes wherry ale kit that a was wanting to try do a dry hop but not sure what one to use so will be looking for help on that next

Welcome Gav41. It's a great forum this, but we'll probably need to taste it before giving any meaningful advice. Still, if you put it on last Sunday, it's probably all gone by now.

I'm pretty sure they dry hop with Styrians, although i can't find any reference to the hops they use on their website. Bear in mind that Styrians are a variety of Fuggle. When I made my first copy back in 2004, I had to formulate a recipe from taste and I used Brewer's Gold all the way through. I never saw any good reason to change.

Hi Gav, welcome to the forum, to be honest the Wherry is really good as it is unless you're splitting the two cans and only using one? either way happy brewing.

Just had a look this morning when a got the wherry kit (it was a starter kit from wilko) there just one can so is there a recipe that a could try maybe adding hops or what ever a could or am I best off just making just the one can it's self

If you are returning to brewing I suggest you do it as it comes and follow the instructions.
But if you want to be a little more adventurous you could make up a hop tea and add that before you bottle your beer. To do that I suggest 25g of something like EK Goldings, or First Gold or Styrian Goldings pellets say in a pre-packaged hop tea bag using 250ml or so of boiled cooled hot water in a sanitised jug at about 80*C, allow to cool and gently pour liquid into your beer. Allow an hour or so for the tea to mix in.

Hi Gav, Didn't realise it was a starter kit mate, normally Wherry comes as a two can kit with 2 x yeasts and some people make 80 pints using the two seperate tins instead of 40 pints using the other can as the fermentables, take terrym's advise mate he's a bit of a legend on here(shhh don't tell him).
