I will soon be recieving my first brewing starter kit. It comes with FV, pressure barrel & all the other basic stuff requierd to make a brew. I have also orderd some swing top bottles as I plan to split the brew between the barrel, (for my use) and the bottles, (to take to friends as samples). Question is, isit a good idea to split the brew after fermentation, ie fill the 12 bottles then put the remainder into the barrel, or would it be better to fill the barrel then transfer into the bottles after conditioning. Any advice greatfully recieved.

Mick.

After fermentation, transfer to keg and prime with sugar or dried malt extract, bottle how ever much you want and leave the rest in the keg, you can then see the diference between bottle and keg conditioned, the bottles will clear and condition quicker.
