Slush syrup

Having just started a polish raspberryade brew and looking at the posts using vimto/ ribena cordial as sources of flavoured sugar base, I got to thinking about what other syrups could be used and thought of slush syrup... The type used in slush puppie ice drinks

There are endless flavours available and could be an answer to keeping the young adults and ladies in the house in alcopop style fizzy drinks and out of your own stash

Has anyone tried using these syrups with any success?? And does anyone know if these syrups are suitable or are they full of additives and preservatives
