I do love a Remoaner. I won't say which way I voted in the referendum, that's my business. I have voted many times in different elections. Sometimes my chosen candidate/party won, sometimes they didn't. What has happened in every single instance is that I have accepted the result sometimes with pleasure, sometimes with annoyance, but I've accepted that the people have voted and that is the decision. We had a referendum. More people voted to leave than voted remain. Deal with it.

And every 5 years or less we revote on which party will represent us in the immediate future, some get it wrong then and would if we voted now so what's the difference?

Being a ‘democracy’ doesnt mean that if a result occurs in an election or referendum, which you disagree with, that you have to sit in the corner and be quiet. You’re entitled to complain about it and try to get it democratically overturned. So you deal with that. We’ve had 40+ years of people moaning about being in the EU, now that they’ve got their own way those of us who think it’s a monumentally stupid idea aren’t allowed to say so. Apparently.

One has to believe in the future. We can't change the past, but we can influence the future. It is apparent there are those who are going to sit in judgement for years to come, those who didn't get the outcome they voted for.
The challenge is now and what is ahead, its tomorrow that we have to address, not keep harping on about the referendum and what should have been according to them. If the labour party is going to keep running with the lets have another referendum, or lets go back to the EU ticket, then they are never going to get back in. Seems any excuse to bash the Tory party is fair game, without any inclination about how a labour party would perform. Got to feel sad for the losers who continually knock the party who is in leading the country.

I wanted to give Cameron and more especially Osbourne one up the chuff,Therefore i voted for brexit.
If they had been leavers I would have voted remain,Sad I know.

This is true, but the moaning about individual elections tends to die down and people get on with it because they realise that they've made their point and to be honest they cannot do much about it. We have left the EU. In reality there is no prospect of us ever rejoining (or in my persona view of the EU surviving in its current form for much longer) so why keep on about it. As my grandmother said, no one likes a sore loser.

anyway - this thread is now officially boring so I won't be back on it. I'll be reading a bout. beer which is much more fun.

My old office manager was quite the opposite.

She admitted to voting for Cameron because he had a nice smile. Theresa May because she wore lovely dresses, and Boris because he was cute and cuddly.

Would anyone like to predict when Labour will get back in, with nearly 50% of the public voting to remain and obviously gutted we didn't surely they should be giving the tories a kicking in the polls yet they aren't, its not looking good for Labour especially from July 2019 to September 2021 -

Currently reading Left Out, about Corbyn's last days a complete shambles. I joined the Labour Party after brexit to vote against Corbyn who was pro brexit and I voted for Keir as he is not a fool and will start to rebuild a credible Labour Party. Only a centrist party have a chance of winning.

How on Earth can any party leader be less credible than a man who:

• Has had (at least) 2 children as a result of affairs, and at one point was unable to tell reporters how many children he actually had;
• Referred to Africans as “flag waving Picaninnies” with “watermelon smiles” in a column for the Telegraph
• Compared gay marriage to beastiality in his book
• Referred to working class men as “criminal” and “hopeless” in The Spectator
• Claimed working women raise “undisciplined and unloved” children
• Claimed Liverpool supporters were “hooked on grief” over Hillsbrough
• Rode around on a massive bus claiming we would get an extra £35M a week for the NHS after Brexit
• Was investigated over claims he used political donations to refurbish 10 Downing St
• Said he’d “let the bodies pile high” rather than put Britain into lockdown

We know the Tories are scum and the leader a complete ar$ehole but we need to build a credible Labour Party to defeat them as Labour did to the corrupt Tories in 1997.
