I'll just top the kettle up,Mrs usually uses fresh but as I often make 2 cups at the same time I can see the difference.

That would be it boiling drives off oxygen, oxygen is need brew the tea. Fresh tap water every boil.

E3 for me, and yorkshire tea in a teapot for a few minutes before pouring.
Doing it in the cup is a bit nasty, as I find it can taste scorched

I always use fresh water always have i assume someone must have told me its the best method when i first started drinking tea SWMBO used to boil what was in the kettle again even if it had been sat a while, she now uses fresh
