Returning to brewing

Hi
I'm getting back into brewing after a 30 year break. I used to do malt brewing as a student in South Africa. Temperature control was cupboard. I scored a brewing day course for my birthday and I'm starting to get into all grain brewing. The forum has been brilliant in getting back up to speed.

Like myself you've had a long break but what a treat your in for. Home Brewing has come a very very long way. Methods, lovely shiny equipment but best of all the vast amount of help that you will get from this (and other) forums.

Welcome back. Brewing is quite addictive - be careful where it leads you! I started home brewing again after a 40 year lay-off and it got a bit out of hand … I now have an MSc in brewing science and brew 17 barrel batches at a local craft brewery.

Brilliant, I have warned my wife it may be worse (or better, depending on viewpoint) than the espresso rabbit hole I went down.
