I regret using a batch of grains twice. Second time to make a mild/whatever. It didn't turn out too good. I've kept it more in hope than expectation, telling my inner self "it'll improve with age". ..

I regret panicking that my brown hadn’t actually finished at 1.014 and drastically under-carbing it. The minikegs were ok but the 2 bottles I kept for myself are incredibly flat. I apologise to everyone who received a bottle.

Biggest regret was a batch of Siren Undercurrent clone that got some kind of infection and went solventy. I've kept it and am slowly working my way through it as the solvent flavour subsides, though it will never fully disappear. The worst part is I can tell how good it would have been - crystal clear, great head retention, hop / malt balance is just right but that solvent flavour is hanging around in the background ruining everything.

I tried a partigyle bitter after brewing a barleywine, it too wasn't very good. I recently read that "topping up" the mash with some crystal malt before taking the second runnings is a better way to do it.

I regret my yeast choices, which are largely driven out of he fact I can't predict when I'm going to brew. So I did a German Weiss with dry yeast which probably would have benefitted from a liquid strain, and now have a liquid Trappist yeast that's six weeks out of date in my fridge.

I regret buying (this morning) a fridge freezer on eBay to use as a fermentation chamber. It looked great in the photo and I was only focused on whether it was big enough to hold my fermenter without considering the external dimensions.

Turns out it's an American fridge freezer and although we managed to manhandle into position it's taking up far too much space in our dining room, I don't think my wife is very pleased with me.

Now that it's been switched off a while it don't smell too good either.

I was on nightshift last night and blame lack of sleep for not thinking too clearly.

Going to either have to sell it on for a more normal sized one or clear space in the garage and get the electrics fixed out there.

That thing is huge! I've got a big larder fridge for my SS bucket and it's about half the width of that...

I do hope you're referring to getting the electrics in the garage so the wife can have the telly on in there.

Make a small starter calculated for 100bn cells with your trappist yeast and it'll be fresh again for another 6 months.

I'm just about to splash out on 5 brand new fermenting bins to replace the battle-scarred ones which have served me well for donkey's years. It's still 2017 and I know I'm going to regret parting with all that cash.

Not feeling quite so bad now... managed to score 5 FVs for £21 inc. postage.
