This looks like a good thread for my question.

How hot have people managed to get their fermentation fridge with a 40w tube heater? The next brew is using WHC Framgarden yeast and supposed to hold temp at 38°C... 🥵

I think I've had it up near 30° previously for a saison, but 38° seems unachievable.

I think you'll be looking at a water bath with an aquarium heater if I'm not mistaken.

Would a bigger heater in the brewing fridge not be easier? I have a fan heater kicking around, which is 1KW. Just seems a little less safe?

You could use an immersion heater say a 200 watt or larger fish tank heater if you are using a plastic fermenter.
just make a small hole the size of the cable and remove the plug then seal it with a small blob of blutac or silicone so it can be removed to allow sanitazing of the heater between brews

Update.
I tested a fan heater in the brew fridge and the heater thermostat stopped it going above 25°C.
I've now got a brew belt and 50w tube heater connected to inkbird and so far reaching 36.5°C, which I'm pretty happy with.
The ambient temp in garage is about 10°C.
Most importantl, my NEIPA is busy bubbling away 🤗
