Rauch lager from kit

Got a mangrove jack's lager kit at home one the the Brewers series Gold lager ones. Brewed one before with a brew enhancer and wasn't too bad.

But just wondering about pimping it up with some Smoked rauch malt, and ideas if it's a good idea or not.

Not sure about whether to steep or boil the grains or amount to use. Would 1kg be too much, or would the whole experiment to a total disaster.
 
An experiment is never a disaster in brewing; it’s how we learn.

Go for the 1kg and a one hour mash.

Check the OG and adjust with sugar if required, before pitching the yeast.

BTW, apart from two infected brews, I can’t remember having to pour a brew down the drain; and I’ve done a lot of experimentation!
