Hi All - a newbie here!

I have been brewing in Scotland for a good few years from extract and never had any clarity issues. I now live in Warwickshire and my 3 brews so far have been very hazy. They taste ok, but just look terrible. I'm using Munton's cedarex.

The question is: could this be purely down to the much harder water? - the only other thing I have changed is the yeast, from Gervin to either Nottingham or Safale-04.

Any help would be really, really appreciated guys.

cheers,
Simon.

Have you done any testing of the water? It could possibly help some of the more knowledge folk to give ya a hand :)

Good point! here is the info.

hardness level: very hard
hardness: 145 ugAl/l
chloride: 53.7 mgCl/l
pH: 7.5
Sodium: 34.38mgNa/l

Can Anyone help with recomended treatments for extract brewing (I'm still assuming that the water is causing a haze!)

thanks guys,
Simon.
