Dark Grains

I'm not sure this is right, so I'll ask.
I ordered some ingredients for an imperial stout.
When I got them, the pale malt (which makes up the majority) is crushed as I'd expect.
I also ordered crushed amber, brown, chocolate and black. It says on the receipt it's crushed, but it doesn't look it.

Is this normal?

If it doesn't look crushed then it isn't. The darker malts crack easily so all is not lost, you can put them in a tea towel and crack them with a rolling pin. You shouldn't have too much to crush so it will be over in minutes. Before you do take a photo and get your money back for the grain.

Either way, give them a blitz in a blender or food processor.
