Hi all,

Im doing my first extract brew and wanted to have a quick check with an obvious couple of questions.

Its ready to be put into a Keg (23L of it). What is a sensible about of brewing sugar to add?
From what ive read before i was planning 60g. And from what I remember its disolved in half a pint of boiling water and then cooled before being added.

Ive never bottled any beer but was thinking of bottling say half a dozen in this batch.
Instead of adding sugar directly to the bottles is it ok to just take beer directly from the Keg once sugar has been added?

Thanks in advance

60 to 80 grams will be fine for a low level of carbonation, ideal for a bitter or ale - if you want to bottle staight from the keg it will be fine or just add half a teaspoon of sugar to the bottle and give it a shake to dissolve once capped. What did you brew?
:drink:

Thanks. I'll probably go with the higher amount of that range then especially if Im taking some out to bottle to make sure theres enough presure in the keg.

I should have said it was an ale I am making.
Have used 2 tins of Coopers LME - 1 amber and 1 light and golding hops.
Seems good so far, just will be a little weak (probably added a little too much water) and is fermenting pretty slowly (I allowed the temperature to drop too much) but is still bubbling away after 2 weeks so might still need a litle longer in the FV.
