plastic fermentors

do PET fermentors taint the tast of the wine, im still stuck in my ways of useing glass but as i have a very big brew in the works buying more DJ's would be a major expence.

so does PET taint the wine or not?

Food grade PET will not taint the wine as such. There may be a question mark over long-term storage in PET. However, I have not come across any problems. Have bottled wine and beer in all sorts of PET containers. I am sure there's an industry expert amongst us to advise in more detail.

I brew all my wine kits in plastic FV. Never had any suggestion of any taint.
I have a bout 180 litres on the go at any one time so cant do with 1 gallon demijohns
any more.
