It's the same spectrum, just a different trait.

Takes one to know one,
I like things to be lined up, centred or equal on both sides (beer glass has to be in the centre of the beer mat for instance) but it's not intrusive. I wouldn't have had to have lined up the screw slots. But now I've seen it ).

I'm a stickler for following instructions, especially work specs. and even more so when they're wrong...or moreso pointing out there's an error to the Lords and masters who stare blankly back, coz they can't find it. Such fun!

I've always been very much the same, it's not quite as all encompassing for me as it once was, I've managed to train myself out of most of my OCD habits, mainly due to being around people who used it as an opportunity to wind me up.

Many years ago, shortly after my wife and I started courting, I had a huge DVD collection (a few thousand titles) that I kept on a sizeable bookcase, organized into genre, series, alphabetised etc. Above all else though, every DVD case was precisely flush with the edges of the bookcase.
For some reason, she found it very amusing to poke a few cases slightly further onto the shelves or pull a few out just a little, and within seconds of me entering the room I'd spot it. It got to the point where I'd be waking up at 4am and checking each and every DVD case just in case.

Bloody neurotypicals eh! :laugh8:

I’m too lazy to have organised the DVDs but there would have been a shallow grave waiting for the nudging out of line. :laugh8:

Swmbo is the opposite of me and it drives me mad.

One of her favourites is putting the front or back door keys in random places after locking the door then half an hour later hunting high and low for the key it got so bad I bought two keyrings that make a noise when you push button1 or 2 on a separate sender which I put in a place she cannot move it.

I'm not one of those weirdos that needs to switch the light on and off twelve times and bang the door shut four times.*

* This is a joke, please don't rip me to shreds. I realise there are many types of neurodivergents - my love of things being lined up being one of them. As I'm one of these weirdos I can make fun of 'us'.

What number do you use to count your checks?

Are we not all neurodivergent¿
I discovered only a few weeks ago that not everyone (only 40%)can visualise stuff.

I can but I didn't consider it a gift.
