anyone remember these. before this was invented i was the channel changer. "joey change the channel!"
not too long ago it occurred to me that these never needed new batteries. then i realized its because they had none.

a quick google search revealed that they worked via high pitch ultrasonic frequency or something. pretty neat.

i also remember the channel selector only went up not down. to go down you had to go all the way around but fortunately there were only three channels and pbs . so it didnt take too long to get back to the channel you intended. lol
Back in the day a friend’s family had a tv with an ultrasonic remote. You could change channels randomly by jingling your pocket change.
