I've over carbonated my beer in my corni. I've let the co2 out and put 10 psi back in (it was 20 psi) will this be enough to reduce it or do I have to do something else?

I'm using a beer engine to dispense my beer.

Probably too much, if your using and engine you want bugger all pressure on the beer, 1psi at most I would have thought. I have never dispensed from a cornie to a beer engine though so I'm probably wrong.

its surprisingly difficult to un-carbonate beer - at least i find it so. If it were me, I'd remove all the pressure and vent frequently until it calmed down a bit, and if you're chilling it then move it somewhere warmer as warmer beer retains the gas less well.

If that doesn't work you may have to try rolling the keg up and down and venting in between - I've had success with this before, but i've also poured beer all over the floor from the leaking lid before too... there may be other ways but you don't really want to splash it about in air.

For me personally, 10psi is more than enough for ales even with the usual dalex tap - as UP says it still seems too much for a beer engine; though to be fair I'm less than experienced with those.

Cheers

Open the safety valve . . .cover with a plastic bag . . . and leave it for a week.

If dispensing via a beer engine without a check valve . . . you needt to put 2-3 psi on the keg . . . when serving release all pressure open the safety valve . . .pull pints (yes let air in). . . . when finished for the night, purge with co2 and put the 2-3 psi back on the keg.

Alternatively get a Check valve . . .put up to 10 psi (at 12-13C) on the keg and pull pints.
