I can see it. If you have the cash you'd be all over it. Modern cars are ****. Well they are great but they are ****. Some people will never understand that for many car enthusiasts a car is more than just a lump of metal and machinery and represents so much more. Like people banging on about the Beatles...they were big in their time but time has moved on but those who experienced the Beatles back in the day will always put them on a pedestal. Same with cars. Modern cars are so sanitised and boring, and alot more expensive relatively than they were. Sometimes you have to question progress for progress sake. It's purely an emotional thing. I got more excited the other day seeing an old Triumph Toledo on the road than seeing some new Ferrari which I couldn't identify as they all look the same these days.
I love watching Harrys Garage but often just skim through his road tests of the newer cars...they're all the same and meh - too expensive, too capable, too big, too complicated, too heavy. Much prefer his content on his older cars and motorbikes. My Tesla is so soul-less. Just an iPad on wheels. I'd swap it out for may old 1987 Porsche 944 turbo in a heartbeat - wish I'd kept it since I couldn't afford to buy it back again now prices have shot up. Used to look forward to getting into that thing...I never look forward to getting into the Tesla.
