Im sure most have had a few brew disasters along the way  immagine my horror when I discoverd no air lock in the fermenter my 2 year old daughter had pulled it out  Normally I wouldnt worry if it was fermenting, but it was finished beer in the secondary waiting to be bottled, I have no idea how long the beer was exposed, but it could be as much as a couple of days :wha: checked it for smell & taste seems ok :thumb: picked the airlock off the floor put in a bit more water & stuffed it back  left it for a few more days to see if it went bad & bottled today  do you reccon i got away with it :?: My mates 18 month old pulled the airlock out in similar conditions but poured the contents of the airlock into the beer  His beer was the best iv tasted from him :thumb: Has anybody else had an amusing horror story while brewing & got away with it or not :?:

a wasp took a dive bomb into my boiler. fortunately it was during the boil though. the beer got named Wasp Stinger

have snapped a hydrometer in a freshly made bucket of wort after spending 7 hours brewing it! as i forgot it was in there when aerating aggressively with a spoon! *doh* had to reach in with a sterilised arm and fish out the bits... i was very careful when racking that one not to catch the sediment

Sterilizing armes  immagine doing that in a brewery "Get yourself sterilized mate your going diving" now I would definately volenteer for that job :thumb:  Iv dropped a few things into the wort, its usually the seal for the cap or the bung :nono:
