Segway, the vehicle designed to revolutionise the way we travel. Well, its been over ten years and they are still a joke for fat Americans and geeks. Want an extreme sport on wheels in the great outdoors that is a bit different? Downhill unicycle M***** F***** :P

Once you try it, you'll want one.

The only reason they're still regarded as a daft novelty in the UK is that due to a technicality, they are illegal to use on both public roads and pavemants. They're also chuffing pricey. Both Cons and Libdems said they'd look at changing the law if they got in...

Believe me, they are actually a very clever practical way to get about.

Edit: Above link now works.

I was treated to morning session on one at Epcot, really enjoyed it and despite only going 12mph you still can have good fun on them.
Don't think I'd get one if they ever were legal here to use, but might pop in to a centre like the one in BY's link

after seeing them on bbc breakfast i cant imagine much worse in the whole world of 'off road' except off road wheelchairing!

so much more fun to be had for a lot less cash

each to their own though :)
