Hi everybody,

I have been interested in having a go for a while, took the plunge and started a Coopers IPA last friday. I would have started sooner but I wanted to collect a few bottles

I have followed the instructions to the letter and I am pleased to say that the FV has a lovely bubbly head on it at the moment,

I checked the OG before the yeast went in and have 1034 on the hydrometer. I dont want a brew that will knock you sideways after 1 glass so am pleased so far.

Anybody else tried this kit?

Welcome to the Forum RW, hope your IPA kit goes well.
I don't do kits, so can't advise you; there are plenty of others that do.

 Welcome RW, I've not done that kit but Coopers are generally very good. If you keep to their instructions you shouldn't go far wrong :drink:

welcome aboard the beer train, lets us know what your kit turns out like, i was looking at that one the other day

Thanks. I was hoping to get it brewed and bottled before the kids break up, I am away camping for that weekend 23rd July and wanted to take some with me. I wonder now if it wil be conditioned in time

Just an update for you all. I checked the gravity this morning, 1006, its still bubbling but only slightly now ( the smell when I opened the lid was wonderfull). I recon by Friday it will be ready for bottling, probably dropping a few points in the process. Happy days

Bottled it thish evening...hic :drink: tastes better than I thought it would...hic...burp. 'kin syphon kept breaking down...burp. couldn't get the caps on a few... :drink: burp...hic...its a good un, a bit lively when bottling. Might do another tomorrow if I wake up...phaaart...

Hi Robbarwell, I'm new to this home brew lark too and my first kit is the Woodforde's Wherry best bitter, it's still in the fermenter but about ready to move into the pressure barrel. Sounds like you've had success with yours, hopefully mine will do the same, as you are a few days advanced on me, you'll have to let me know any tips you have or mistakes you made so I can learn from a fellow beginner. :)

See you around
