Thank you all for your advice and tips but now I'm possibly more stumped as to what to do as got so much more choice!

some of us get almost as much fun tinkering with kit and diy brewery building as we do from the brewing and sampling, Other folk prefer the unwrapping of off the shelf equipment being ready to go, and some buy off the shelf kit and do a little aftermarket modding. Whichever route feels right for you is probably the best way to go ;)

if at all diy inclined and you have confidence to drill holes wire a plug and seal a threaded joint with a wrap of ptfe tape then you should have no problems with a diy kettle build, and if needed you can find all the support you might need in here.
