Hey all

I'm about to move up to York from Winchester in the next couple of weeks.
I've brewed 7 batches of all grain beer now and think this would probably be a good time to start expanding my knowledge on water treatment as so far I've not done any.

I've read over a few basic guides including the one on this forum and I think I kindda get what the crack is but was interested to know if there were any North Yorkshire dwellers out there who could share some wisdom with me and giver me a shopping list of anything I may need for my new northern brewing antics??

Also if there is any good idiots guides to water treatment people could recommend I would be really grateful.

Cheers forum peoples.

Hi A and welcome to the forum :thumb:
Might be worth having a look on the forum map, top left, down 6 for folks in your area.

I live in York and think the water is really good, it tastes fine and doesn't develop any chlorine twang when stood for a while (unlike Hull!). I've done 4 kits and 8 AG brews, the only water treatment I've done so far is use half a crushed campden tablet. I'm really happy with the results so far and so have no plans to change the regime in the near future. A more experienced brewer from the region may be able to give some better advice on how to get the best from our water...

Hope you enjoy your new city!

Cheers guys, I'll get on the map action. Thanks tickler nice to know its pretty much good to go!
