NEIPA water treatment

Hi, I've never bothered with this before but here in Edinburgh our water is pretty soft and as I've just spent a bomb on hops for this I'd like to get it right -

Calcium mgCa/l - 10.63
Magnesium mgMg/l - 1.48
Hardness as mg/l CaCo3 - 32.57

Any straightforward additions I could do that I wont have to buy kgs of ingredients for?

Aim for sulphate:chloride ratio of 1:1.5-2. You want to minimise the bitterness you get from the sulphates and smoothen out the mouthfeel with the chloride. Get on eBay and buy Gypsum and Calcium Chloride.

Sorry to hi jack this thread, but does anyone know the best way to find out your water profile? I’ve had a look on my water suppliers website but can’t find anything about it.

I googled water quality edinburgh and then navigated scottish waters site as I wasn't interest in bacteria.

I got mine tested on brewuk using murphy and sons but http://www.phoenix-analytical.co.uk/ is another one that comes recommended.

Yeah no probs, I’ve sent them an email.

I’ve found my local water report but it doesn’t list calcium, is it named as something else? Also there are about 50 things on there, which ones should I be paying attention to?

As said by others. If you really want to get into water treatment then the best thing is to shell out for a water profile test from Murphy's or AN. Other.

It will give you everything you need to know. And if you get the Murphy test they even give you a cheat sheet of AMS and additions (their blended minerals) to add to your water (per litre) to attain standard beer styles. IPA etc.
