Good morning, Just a quick mail in to tell you about an " Owd roger type clone " I made up about two weeks ago and it's tasting good.
I love the drink especially on a Wintery evening. I landlord at our local Marston's pub says it's hard to store in warmer month's so this is while I have made a clone type, as he will run the taps dry soon.
Here we go:
A tinned Geordie kit from Wilko's
x2 Tate and Lyle tins of black treacle ( for dark richness )
1ib of Molassis sugar ( for the caramel taste )
x1 teaspoon off lemon, x1 orange and x1 vanilla essence
x2 large ginger roots ( frozen first ) then shredded, I love ginger, will add more next time......LOL
1lb of raisins and sultanas
1/2 jar of Raspberry jam

The total has come around £ 15 for 40 pints.

I can taste the caramel and fruitiness. At the moment it is very similar. Have a go. :drink:
