My first WOW.! moment

Patience got the better of me and I cracked open a bottle of my third AG brew, the centennial brown ale that is in the recipe section on this forum. It's had 2 weeks fermentation, including about 9 days with some dry hopping, then 2 weeks today in the bottle in the warm. When I got in from work, I stuck the scaggy bottle that was the last one filled, it was filled with a jug, it had too much head space in the bottle so I didn't expect much at this stage and from this bottle. How wrong I was. This is the best thing I've made so far and it's soooo good, I don't know if I could even top it. It is the nicest beer I've ever drank.... and I made it. I'm a very happy man right now.

Sounds great. I've still got my first two AGs conditioning but haven't succumbed to tasting yet - no idea how - my arm is easy to twist!

I had a similar moment with my 3rd All Grain brew. It was delicious and i had made it. Made me beam even more when i gave one to a friend who said 'he forgot he was drinking a home brewed beer'.

I've been brewing AG for 3 years and I still get that, "did I make this" feeling. Especially when I have drink of something in the pub, like it, have a crack at making a similar style, and then surpass the original beer I tried in the pub

I'm chuffed for ya Jamie, its a fantastic moment, :thumb:
my number 3 got taken by the brewery lad to the head brewer, he said it was a 'little yeasty' but otherwise he liked it, it was only 2 weeks carbed and 1 week conditioned, I only gave it to the lad for his comments, didn't expect him to take it into work with him!

The hbc dipa (also my 3rd ag) came with a big centennial hop tea bag and early samples are awesome.
Definitely a hop I'll use again (once I've used up some of the stock in the fridge).

Enjoy the rest of your stock (I'm going to hunt down the recipe this afternoon in case it disapears) and your next brew(s).
