Hi TonyH,

I'm just about to start my Coopers Kit - Lager and am really excited about it :D I've been busy trying to read as much as possible cos I've never made one before but was wondering what a fosters widget glass is?

Sorry if its a dumb Q but haven't heard of it before.

Cheers

No such thing, what he has is a foster glass with a head keeper in the base.

What is a head keeper I hear you say?

The Head keeper is a design in the bottom of the glass usually white in colour which by some magic has great ability to propogate bubbles.

:)

Ah thanks Plumpton it least its not something I will "have" to rush out & get. My DH is now looking at me as if I've lost my mind cos just went through our beer glasses to see which ones have the magic markings

I have a Duvel glass that does the same. It's basically a little rough area in the bottom of the glass that allows bubbles to 'seed'.

You can produce the same effect by using a dirty glass.

There are plenty of those here Luckyeddie now I've an excuse for not scrubbing too hard
