never have i had one until this morning. swmbo's wilko fruit cider in proper new beer bottles blew the bottom of the bottle clean off.
They have been very lively a few she has opened have been gushers. My question is te bottles were capped in April i thought if you were to get a bomb they would go off soon. after bottling. the kit was made as per instructions too

regards.

ps please excuse 7th line third word is meant to say THESE. Its a bloody pain typing on phone and trying to go back to change a mistake as most of us know

Blame the hot weather, re starting the yeast off on left over sugars....according to Forest Gump.....**** happens....

Just about to mention that the same thing happened to me, also capped in April. I haven't checked the others since

The very first time and only time I made beer was back in the days where you couldn't buy beer kits before 12 midday on a Sunday.

All my bottles exploded, it didn't help taping the plastic stoppers to the bottles with electricians tape

Never made beer since.

:D This bugger didn't blow the caps it sheared the bottom clean off. I heard a clatter of bottles and thought the kids are mucking about. Was about to get out of bed [around 0730 well i'm on hols] when swombo came in and said one of her ciders has sheard straight off. It looks like it has took off like a rocket tipped upside down and landed among all the other bottles. As i said i thought exploding bottles only happened straight after bottling not3 months later. Learn something everyday :D

It makes a hell of a mess, I had beer dripping through the ceiling from the room upstairs where the bottles were stored

I,ll probably give beer another whirl sometime, but I'll get a pressure keg this time :D
