A damson double fruited ale 6.2% better than day one. 7.5/10 so 14.5 so far.
Oedipus is in Amsterdam, very close to the hotel where my son and I stayed early this year when we were over there for football. The tap room wasn't open though, so we didn't get to try their beer.View attachment 78630
Beer52 Day 2: A blond ale from Oedipus Brewery (?) somewhere in the Netherlands. Not really my cup of tea but bready, the spice actually not too overpowering for me and a subtle citrus finish.
Dark chewy beers are definitely a good thing for winter, sat in front of a fireView attachment 78646
Beer52 Day 3: "Certain Facts" cardamom stout from Wiper & True (5%).
Something about the darker colder months, I'm really into my dark beers at the moment and excited to try this later - will report back
Very disappointed and underwhelmed As stouts go the colour was pretty light. The cardamom was certainly there but behind that very little else and not really any of the malty or malt derived flavours you might expect.View attachment 78646

4.8% that's illegal for a trappist beer, must be the work of satanThis is today's beer. Nice and crisp, noble hop flavours and subtle Belgian yeast character. Had this beer before and I really like it

It looks very grey as well. I wonder whether it's oxidised/off? Onion is not a flavour I expect people try to get into their beersDay 3 of the TR calendar View attachment 78703
Not a good galaxy IPA for day 3. 5.5 out of 10. So 20/30. It starts off with onion notes. I use galaxy a lot and I brew better than this.
I was wondering the logistics of brewing 24 unique beers in a year. Assuming you have to send them out before december that would mean 10 months approx say around 44 weeks available. That's a batch every fortnight unless you are brewing more than one at a time in addition to your exisiting output, even so some could be hanging around for 8 months. Id brew the dark strong ones at the start of the year and the pales right at the end. Brewdogs calendar had existing beers in their range in their calendar I had last year so less of a challenge. It looks very grey as well. I wonder whether it's oxidised/off?
