Is that a Tory who realised that his arguments wouldn’t stand up to scrutiny?Chippy can you remame this thread, flogging a dead horse
Hostile takeover. Magic money tree. Money printer go brrrrrrrrrrrr. And how will you fund this venture?
And would it have been better under Labour? And where was the money misappropriated? Has the debt not gone down in this current quarter? And would the debt go up or come down under LabourThis myth that the Conservatives are a safe pair of hands with the economy has to be dispelled too.
Not only have we seen misappropriation of public money on a scale unseen before, our national debt now stands at 2.4 trillion, up from 68% in 2010 to 81% 2021 as a % of our GDP.
Not much use in Osborne's austerity years to reduce the deficit when growth was absolute dog ****. The party of the economy indeed.

Get out of the past and stop asking what if questions. It doesn't matter what came before, we can't change that, and what ifs are just hyperthetical noise. And would it have been better under Labour? i am not tory or labour i dont care who is in power they are all full of *****, at the last GE labour was not beaten by the torys it was their own supporters who beat them, were i live we got our very first tory mp a total gobshite with no clue, the best mp we ever had was Andy Burnham did wonders for the place, does that answer your remarkIs that a Tory who realised that his arguments wouldn’t stand up to scrutiny?
Then get them in there and let them show their worth. What have you got to lose? What I have found is it doesn't pay to be one eyed about a party. I have made done well under both Labor and Liberal, but I will say better under Liberal. There is not much difference between the parties in our countries, the system is much the same. We have had labor in charge for the last eight years in Victoria our debt since then has blown out. Public servants have increased three fold. It goes both ways. There have been some shocking scandals with public spending here. And kick backs.I'm not making the point that Labour would have, or will do better. I'm simply making the point that the Conservatives have been in power for 12 years, and have made a terrible mess of the economy. I don't need to prove that Labour would've done better for that to be true.
Public monies dished out to cronies via contracts with zero scrutiny. It's going to take more than a quarter to overturn the 12 year trend.
I'm no Labour apologist. Unfortunately there is a dearth of talent in their ranks too, but I do not think they are a malevolent force in the way that the Conservative Party is.
I don't live in the past, it is the ones, who, like yourself are living in world where the blame has to be put on the party you didn't vote for.Get out of the past and stop asking what if questions. It doesn't matter what came before, we can't change that, and what ifs are just hyperthetical noise.
Live in the now!
The Tories are robbing us blind and syphoning the profits to their rich pals. That's where you'll find the money.
Still not answering the points raised.Problem is most people are incapable of formulating their own view point. Parental guidance has a lot to answer for, my parents were one eyed (which ever party) so I must be the same.
I can't answer those points which are a subject of the posters imagination of what could have been.Still not answering the points raised.
Now how are they supposed to formulate their own view point?Problem is most people are incapable of formulating their own view point.
I think that each of us should think the same way as a MP. Doesn't matter which party, the only thing they care about is themselves. None are going to pull a rabbit out of a hat and make things hunky dory. Destiny is in our own hands, and our own hands alone. At the end of the day life will be what you make it.Now how are they supposed to formulate their own view point?
Is it by listening to each side of the argument?
Too much Castlemaine methinksI think that each of us should think the same way as a MP. Doesn't matter which party, the only thing they care about is themselves. None are going to pull a rabbit out of a hat and make things hunky dory. Destiny is in our own hands, and our own hands alone. At the end of the day life will be what you make it.

You could stick that on a t-shirtI think that each of us should think the same way as a MP. Doesn't matter which party, the only thing they care about is themselves. It was you that suggested using windfall tax to pay for all the changes labour are going to make so basically tax the rich and give to the poor it sounds great but i am aftaid Kier isnt robin hood and the companies are not going to take it lying down!Since when has a “Windfall Tax” been an “annual event”?
Dutto said - How about “Taxing the Rich” or recovering excessive profits by means of a “Windfall Tax”
Tell me why you think it would have been different under a labour government.
I have read some ridiculous posts in this forum but i think that takes the biscuit.Simple. I believe that in the UK:
- We have some politicians that are honest and hard working.
- The majority of these politicians are in the Labour Party.
