Been brewing beer from cans for about 6 months. Really love this hobby ( or is it a way of life?!!) not sure the wife loves it so much! :nono:
Anyway I want to move to ag in time but really can't afford all the shiney stuff at the moment! I received an email from " brew" they have dry extract kits that you boil and add hops etc etc. I guess it's a intro into the world of ag.
Has anyone brewed these? Looking for feedback really.

Also what size pan/ pot do I need to boil the brew? Any links on where to buy. Or even better anyone offering one  (you got to try! ;) )

I went from kits to AG, via extract + hops. If you've not used hops, you'll really notice the step from kits, especially with the aroma and flavour hops. Oh, and your wife will really get to enjoy the best smelling bit of home brewing

Extract is a great intro to full mash brewing - however at around £20 for a 40pint recipe plus a pot that holds at least 10litres you should consider the plastic route :D

30litre coolbox plus off cuts of copper pipe, t`s and elbows and 1 ball valve tap = approx £60 (copper through the roof :( )
1 x 60litre plastic FV with twin tesco element = £30

average cost of a pint from AG with moderate hopping and dried yeast (allowing for electricity) say 25 - 30p a pint and an exceptional pint of course

I did kits for almost a year - a lot of kits - and it didn`t satisfy what i was after, one extract gave me the confidence to go AG and WOW what a difference - you won`t want to drink commercial beer after you brew your own :D (well apart from some good brewerys stuff and some belgian stuff!!)

good luck with it :drink:
