Mrs Tea has just got a Moto G5 as her old faithful Samsung S3 finally come to its end with the micro usb port breakin, the new Moto has a fast charger and I think it said full charge in an hour, I will check later.

Lithium cell chemistry always has to slow right down for the last portion of charge, it doesn't like a constant current across the whole charge.
the middle 3/4s is the bit where you can really pump in the milliamps.

As with many people above, I'm on sim only for £8 a month. Seemed much cheaper to just buy a half decent phone outright than to get the equivalent on a contract. I used to tear my hair out a bit when, talking about the cost of their contracts, friends would say "but I get a free phone with it"...
