I've had a kegerator for a good few months now and the novelty/wow factor still hasn't worn off.

How are you connecting your gas line through the mini regs? I'd looked at them and was keen to get involved but the 5/16 sizing put me off because I wasn't keen for more connections via adapters on the gas side.

EDIT: Just had a quick Google and it looks as though you can get 3/8 to 5/16 reducers. I may have to get ordering!

There great but make sure you fit them properly and don't accidentally knock them whilst connected to the keg or you'll end up with a beer shower as I have done it before..

I got reducers (line reducers not barb ones unfortunately - they’re in my pic) and had ordered 1m of 5/16 line from GEB last month.

The greatest shop on all of the internet, the Kegland AliExpress store. Cost me £25.89 delivered for the manifold, inline-reg and 2x3/8-to-5/16 adapters, and arrived from China in 12 days.

Couldn’t be arsed setting it up or doing the “bubble test” for my leaks tonight, but I think the PTFE tape might have sorted the gas leaks I had. I’ve disconnected the gas from the keg and switched off the gas at the tank - over an hour and a half later the line is still holding pressure so fingers crossed. Once I’m convinced I’ve sorted the leak problem I’ll set up the manifold and test it before my bitter goes in a keg in 2 weeks.

The pressure has stayed in the line overnight so it looks like the PTFE tape was my saviour. Put it around all my threaded joins - regulator and my JG screw fittings. Perfect!

One thing I find I need to do is check each connector everytime I refill a keg. When one empties I rotate them in the fridge and there is always one connector that is loose.

Same here been always a bit sceptical of It in past but the savings make it worth a punt!

It’s right to be sceptical/wary of Ali in general, but the Kegland store is legit and there are bargains to be had for small items. Large items (Cornies etc) generally aren’t worth it because the postage costs are astronomical.

Agree! Reading some other posts it also makes sense to make small orders to risk import duty and daft delivery charges.

There are mixed reports but sounds like orders of £20-£30 are ok. I was reading on the forum

AliExpress hold on to the money until you confirm receipt. The timeframe for claiming a refund is long though - my keg parka Was ordered in June and hasn’t arrived yet. The Brewmaster store told me to raise a dispute so
I can get my refund and they can get an insurance claim in but AliExpress won’t let me claim until September.

I’m already on a 3/16 beer line which I have balanced for my witbier. It’s super slow but keeps the carb well and doesn’t foam much other than about a finger of head. Is the 5/16 a happy medium between the super slow 3/16 and the super foamy 3/8?

It's a different system with the EVA barrier line, the outside diameter is 5/16 (8mm) but you have a choice of either 4mm or 5mm internal diameter.

4mm allows me to have a couple of metres run for heavily carved beers. It's also a wee bit slow.

It's also the most flexible line I've ever used, which was the major selling point for me.

I bought 3 of these, but as my taps are on a tower they're too close together for them.

They'd likely be ok for your taps as they're door mounted.
