Hi guys,

I'm a complete newbie to home brewing and I haven't even got any kit yet. I currently plan on brewing everything in my cellar. My problem is that I'm going to be mostly drinking it in my attic.

To save me having to trudge up and down flights of stairs all the time when I have friends round I plan on putting the tap in the attic as well. That would mean that my draft line would be about 10m (30ft) of vertical height difference. Now I take it that just co2 would be out of the question.

Would it be ok if I carbed it with co2 and then served all of my different beers with nitrogen?

Reading between the lines (Sorry!!) I guess that you're planning to put all of your beer into kegs. Unless they are pub-sized beer kegs, why not just carry a keg or two upstairs when you're having a session?

Hoppyland has a good point but likely carbing with CO2 and serving with 60/40 @ 35ish psi may be the solution but have not put anything into a calculator.
