Just popped down to the local petrol station and low and behold the lobsters are out already. Plenty of folks in shorts and vest looking radioactive bright red already. The lady behind the counter said to to the guy in front of me looking cool in his shades, vest and flip flops, ' ohhhhh you alright my dear,' guy responds ' yea cool', lady responds, 'I'd put some cream on that my lover, it's gonna sting like hell later'... Totally innocent, but brilliantly funny.

Still should be right with a little after sun lotion:

Obviously that lady’s Mum sent her out with a tiny bottle of Olive Oil instead of Sun Cream when she was younger; just like millions of other Mums who didn’t know they were sending their kids out to fry in the sun!

Back in the 50’s, there was no Sun Cream affordable, only Calamine Lotion for when you screwed up (it’s still very effective and cheap) and you even had to go to a Chemist to buy a tiny bottle of Olive Oil ‘cos most people cooked in beef dripping or lard.

Happy Days? For wrinkled and leathery skin for sun-worshipers “Yes!”
