Licorice Brew.

Am thinking of adding a few spoons of licorice powder to a stout kit (probabaly Wilko velvet stout as it's on sale).
Be interested to hear if anyone tried this, or has any advice.
Only posts i can find are generally connected to AG, and usually involve boiling up the licorice root.

Hi Coopsy

I am also looking at doing this and started a thread over in Beers BrewDays. I am planning on using this:

rather than the powder so we should compare notes when they are done. Will be going to Wilkos today/tomorrow to get their stout as it is 20% off right now.

Hi LF, yeah will keep you posted, gonna try dissolve the powder along with my sugar before i add to the wort.
What are you doing with the sticks ?, will they dissolve in a boil ?.....

I'm planning to get one/two to disolve. I put one in a bottle of vodka a couple years ago and that disolved nicely so hoping it will work in hot water.
