Hi,

I am still a noob when it comes to brewing but have been having some great results, and this is getting very addictive.

HOWEVER.....I live in Nottingham and cannot find a HBS that is anywhere near me and so have to order online, but all I need atm is some brewing sugar so the £6 delivery cost is just ridiculous. So, for people who know Nottingham.....do you know of any HBSs? There is one about 3 or 4 miles from work but its only open 10-3 which isn't helpful!!

I also spend a lot of time in south yorkshire (mexborough to be exact) so if anyone knows of one round there then that would also be ideal.

Cheers

Just had a look but no shops marked anywhere 'local'. Might just have to up my order to try and make the P&P worth while :wha:

Is the flagon and cask to far away? That seems fairly close to Nottingham. But it could be a good excuse to give to swmbo to get more supplies because of the P&P

It's not a million miles away but I work from 8am till 5pm and often till 8pm

Will keep looking I guess, or just order a shed load for delivery and then its free P&P.

Just don't tell the missus!!

Hi BB, theres a guy with a brewing stall on mexbro' market my shmbo reckons he's there mon and fri , or there brewshop on balby rd going into doncaster

There is one in spondon, long eaton and hucknall. You can also pick up from Murphy's. Check out the nottingham brewers group in the link below.

I think brewing sugar is just dextrose which is sold as glucose in boots and such places, will be more expensive but might be cheaper when you take the PnP into consideration.

My Wilkinsons sell beer kit enhancer (spray malt + brewers sugar).

I have a similar problem.

I live at the other side of the city from my HBS and due to work comitments I can't often get to it when it's open.

"Closed on weds" :wha:

Unfortunately, you'll be lucky to find any small retailer open outside of those hours.

Probably the best idea.

BTW, you could try White Rose Home Brew >>CLICKY<< ...they have a shop in Goldthorpe apparently.

I go to Home Brewing Supplies Ltd at 39 High Street, Balby, Doncaster, DN4 0NN. He opens Saturday but not Sunday. I don't know about any times in the week though. Should be quite close to where you are in the week.

Is that the same as Cellar Services, Brilliant bloke called Alan. He is seriously into brewing wine

Yes, he's called Alan and his shop is full of fermenting wine. I'll be calling in again next week for a keg for the IPA I've just put on.

Manfield's got a brewing shop, nice people in there.

There's also that Murphey's one in Nottingham that's meant to be good.
