hello all

im sorry if this has been asked many times .

after brewing out beer kit in bucket i have put the beer into a youngs pressure barrel that i have used three times before the problem is this time it is leaking from the tap , not from the seal where the tap screws into the barrel i made sure that was tight after the last time of use it is actually coming out of the tap , i tried turning the tap upside side to stop it but it has filled up and it dripping from it again , i have lost 500ml in the last week whilst it has been left in the spare room i have now move the barrel to the garage . any ideas how to stop the leak will be greatfully recieved .

Thankyou Damian

Is the tap in the 3 o'clock position if you're looking at it from above, sometimes if they are pushed fully round they can weep a bit.
How much sugar did you use to prime?

Mine is also doing the same :( had to put a bucket under it to catch the drips. Luckily its a cheap bitter kit that Im not too bothered about so I'll let it leak for now and drink whats left. Then I'll replace the tap once the barrel is empty

Hello eggman it would be at 3 oclock if it wasnt upside down . Put the amount of sugar in as recomonded

taps do tend to leak, you're better off replacing it before you put another one in - you could always syphon back into the bucket then reprime and keg again with a new tap.
